417 visa with drink driving

Recommended Posts

Hi , I have applied for a working holiday in Australia about 4 weeks ago. When I was 17 I was convicted of drink driving , with no licence and no insurance , stupid mistake I know . That was 5 years ago as I'm now 22. I have sent a police check in but still no news on my visa . Should I be worried about the visa being declined ? Thanks .

Did you declare it?  They seem to take not telling them more seriously than old convictions from everything I have read.

309/100 applied 19th Mar 2018 front loaded from the UK.

309 & 100 granted 12 Nov 2018, last entry 20th March 2019.

Yes I declared it in the application , just didn't send the police check out originally as I didn't know I had to do that . They asked for the police check a few weeks later but since then I've heard nothing .

It will take some time as even straight forward cases are now taking a month. As long as the sentence was not custodial of 12 months (including suspended sentences) you should be fine
