First is to check if either you or your partner have a skill on the list https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/Trav/Work/Work/Skills-assessment-and-assessing-authorities/skilled-occupations-lists Calculate points ( I think minimum of 60 is required), skills assessment by relevant assessing authority, English test if you need to increase points, then submit EOI and wait to be invited to apply.
