Overseas Police Check Difficulties

Has anyone had experience of obtaining a police check from Korea? Having lived there prior to getting married my wife's check has been returned in her maiden name and the embassy are refusing to put both surnames on the check. DIBP want the checks to be in the application name though.

Our emigration agent has advised we submit a signed covering letter explaining the situation, with old visa and passport info attached.

We are worried that we have now got this far and this could be a massive hurdle.

Any help is appreciated.

South Korea, presumably.

If your agent is a registered migration agent, be guided by the advice you have received.

The Australian embassy does not decide what names an applicant includes on a Criminal Investigation Records Check application.
