Hanbanan
Hi there, Obviously the immi website states that long term relationships such as my own (de facto for 3+ years at time of application submission) may be processed faster at the discretion of your CO. However I just wondered if anyone who has recently lodged their 820/801 application has actually experienced this?? In theory when my 820 goes through my 801 could go through too but I'm just wondering how likely this actually is... Cheers!
Jon the Hat
From what I read in my months of forum reading it is pretty much routine. If they don't grant both it is worth asking them to reconsider as sometimes they miss it by mistake.
Samson
I would add a statement reminding them that they can grant both..

wrussell
The 820 MUST be granted first (otherwise the 801 application is invalid) and if the applicant/s are eligible for 801 the delegate MUST proceed to grant it. The applicant/s might never know that an 820 was granted.
