wrussell
Applicants do not apply for a bridging visa, it is automatically granted if a valid application is lodged. May I suggest that you recheck the expected processing time?
Misplaced
Hi all has anyone applied for804 visa is it visitor visa first then apply for bridging visa then 804 visa I know you apply onshore and then wait 5/10 years bit confused thanks [emoji849]No it’s not a visitor visa. You get a visitor visa when you come to visit Australia. If you then apply for a 804 visa when in Australia you will be granted a bridging visa when your visitor visa ends. That is my understanding. wrussell
Following an onshore application a bridging visa would automatically be granted and would become effective when the visitor visa expired. If the visitor visa were cancelled the bridging visa would be cancelled too.
Charlie m
Thank you for your replays but do either of you know if the 804 will be still running next year we know the situation you have to be in to be granted this Visa but we were getting conflicting stories it may go soon is this true thanks again charlie m
Misplaced
That is a million dollar question. My feeling is that it will depend on who gets in at the next election. If it’s the current government then I’d anticipate that it would go. However, they’d have to get it passed through the senate, I believe and that’s where it may have problems. So, in answer to your question no one can really say[emoji45]
