bblackbeardd 0 Posted May 2, 2018 Hi all, I might have this completely wrong, but I read something in a post on PIO that suggested the changes to immigration to Oz might be tied up in the Australian Government budget announcement. I just looked this up and it seems to be coming on 8th May - is this right? Does this mean I have 6 days to apply for my 309?! Cheers.
CeltInCaulfield 104 Posted May 2, 2018 Only government sources will be able to give you a categorical answer on that. (If it hasn't been published or announced, it doesn't exist) There's a lot of curiosity and questioning over what changes _might_ be coming. Anyone who tells you that they know exactly what's coming before it's announced? Eh, pay no heed.
Nemesis 2,015 Posted May 2, 2018 Haven;t seen anything anywhere to even remotely suggest that Spouse Visas are going to be stopped after the budget. Only thing I have seen is some mention of Parent Visa and AOS changes.
Jon the Hat 1,210 Posted May 2, 2018 Perhaps they might make the change whereby the sponsor is approved before you can apply. Immi account seems to be setup for that already since the January updates. I cant see it making any difference. bblackbeardd 0 Posted May 3, 2018 Thanks all, I wasn't worried about the visa being stopped but rather that it would get much more difficult/expensive. 7000 AUD is already basically breaking the bank...
