Guest The Pom Queen
Yesterday there was a Supreme Court Ruling in South Australia that the RSPCA has no statutory authority to perform elective surgery on any SEIZED animals. I am sure the media will get hold of the story soon. I may be wrong but I wonder if it’s all down to the little Roxy case. For those who don’t know here is the story http://savingpets.com.au/blog/what-happened-to-sweet-roxy https://www.perthnow.com.au/news/wa/dafwa-and-rspca-in-custody-battle-over-perth-womans-dog-ng-814d6c25e97f296c5e3b4337ca3d8517 https://www.parliament.vic.gov.au/images/stories/committees/SCEI/RSPCA/Submissions/Submission_49-Elizabeth_Chapman.pdf Now I know the RSPCA have done some amazing things out there in saving animals, however, I also have first hand experience of the horror stories and cover ups that have taken place over the years. I had dealt with the late Hugh Wirth (former RSPCA President) over animal welfare concerns and their conflict of interest and he agreed it was an issue. The RSPCA put themselves forward as the protector of all animals unfortunately this isn’t always the case. I have been more shocked recently that RSPCA Adoption Centres have been inflating the price of designer breeds. Surely that’s encouraging pet owners to breed crosses and make up stupid names like shitoodle They are even setting up and selling Dog Training franchises something that was always provided for free by the AWL. I read something the other day that they are to be stripped of their not for profit status but I don’t know if there is any truth in this. We just need an independent body. Parley
Hugh Wirth was a great man. A good vet close to us in Balwyn. Very sorry to hear he passed away a few months ago.

You don’t know the half of it. RSPCA should be shut down and start from scratch with a new organisation
