Patty83 7 Posted April 12, 2018 Hi folks,Q for the immi experts amongst you! I’ve worked for 2 yrs on 457 as antibiotic specialist pharmacist. Employer completed Nomination for 186 in feb. Unclear why but they did DE not TRT despite my meeting the criteria for transition. Is this likely to be a problem? I’m really worried as I’m told DE is ‘stricter’ and transition would have been much more straight forward .Ta in advance.
MaggieMay24 1,518 Posted April 12, 2018 If they've done DE, then you need to meet the criteria for DE. TRT criteria is generally easier.
Patty83 7 Posted April 12, 2018 Thankyou - I did think the transition was easier given you’ve already been through skills assessment etc for a 457 prior to that application. I think I do meet all DE criteria- it’s just annoying we haven’t taken the easier route, even with my prompting! You can lead a horse to water.........Thanks again :-)
csc2018 1 Posted April 12, 2018 DE takes longer time than TRT
Cupidmi 11 Posted April 12, 2018 I applied DE as well, even I am holding the 457, the reason is because I don’t have 2 years full time of 457 before 1/3/18, so my MA told me that it’s better to apply DE before March. I wish immigrant will consider that I’m holding 457 so could be a little more chance to grant 187.
aussiepr_again 0 Posted April 13, 2018 If u have ielts and skill assessment then DE is easier. Employer doesnt need to show tranning benchmark.

This is not correct for the 186. You may be thinking of the 187.
