aconcannon
Hi guys My husband and I are moving from Sydney to the Gold Coast in September 11th. We’re going to break the journey up over 3 nights & wondered where everybody recommends we should visit? We’ve already explored most places as far as Newcastle / Port Stephens so we won’t be stopping there, we’ve also already explored between Byron Bay & the Gold Coast so we won’t be stopping there again either. We absolutely love the ocean, coastal walks and generally pretty coastal scenery. Thinking of stopping in 3 different places. Any advice please send it my way! Thank you! calNgary
Coffs Harbour has always been a favorite of ours. Nambucca Heads is lovely. Cal x
Bobj
Go up the Pacific Hwy to Grafton, then chuck a left-hand-down-a-bit and go up the Gwidir Hwy to Glen Innes, Queen of New England. The road ascends 1000 metres in 20 km. After looking around Glen Innes (mentioned by @The Pom Queen in another thread) head back towards Grafton, but chuck a right-hander about 35km east of Glen, to go down the Old Road (mostly good dirt road, some bitumen at the steepest part) and go through Newton Boyd and the man made tunnel to Grafton. The old road runs alongside the Mann River and it is very easy to access the river in many places. And take the camera to show us all the good photos!...Please. Or, from Glen Innes, go to Tenterfield, Do a right hander and go through Drake (old gold mining town), to Casino and Lismore and on to Ballina, on the Pacific Hwy again. Cheers, Bobj.
