elizawho77
Hi, My visa nomination is being refused and subsequently my visa will be also. It’s a 187 and my employer has submitted an appeal. It’s a nationwide organisation , and this being the first nomination they have ever had refused. The refusal is because I’m offshore and not already working in the position I have been sponsored for in Australia. My question is, am I allowed to have a student visa and go study a short course in Australia while waiting for the AAT? Will I then be able to work for my sponsor for the 20hrs a week? I have put this question to my agent but they are prioritising work for those who have been affected by the new changes introduced 18th. thank you. wrussell
You can apply, but I do not like your prospects.

Does that mean if i do it could affect my current 187 application going to the AAT or you don’t think I’d get the student visa? ?
Raul Senise
You may struggle to meet the "genuine student" criteria for a student visa due to your visa history.
