Guest tigerontour
This is something I need to know about too. I'm not going to have a fixed residence, I'm going to be travelling around Australia (east coast) so I'm relying on bars etc. showing the games. Do they show live matches or re-runs or both? If a game's kicking off in England at 4pm on a Sunday, that's about 1 in the morning in Australia... Are they just shown on a delay? How many games a week are on TV? Is it always the big teams like Manchester United etc. or is it the same games that are on TV in the UK? Cheers, Andy (Tiger on Tour)
saunders clan
Think of it this way, most of the Australian team play in the premiership so yeah, it is shown and apparently the Aussies love their 'soccer'! My hubby Dan is made up by this fact. He loves football. YAWN!!!!
Guest tigerontour
Just didn't know how popular it is in Australia, popular enough to the extent that they'd show all the games on big screens in bars etc. I'll check the TV listings online once the season starts to get a better idea of when matches are shown. Guest earlswood
ahhhh mate.....it is expensive to watch it over here....no pubs showing live footy as it is early morning when they are played....I miss it big time and watching highlights is ****...Aussie footy is sooooooooo crap that you will pull your hair out over here.:err:
Guest tigerontour
Oh really? Not even full 90-minute games on a delay so they're not in the early hours? How much am I going to be able to see my team, Hull City, while I'm in Australia living in a motorhome?

Thanks Scott:cute: They show games in Oz that aren't shown in the UK due to restrictions on showing 3pm Saturday games although they are in the middle of the night (you can always record them). If you're a night owl get yourself to your nearest casino, certainly the Crown Casino sports bar in Melbourne showed live sporting events and football is increasing in popularity in Australia. Guest lauramark
You can if you are prepared to stay up watch all the United games on the internet...sopcast and ppmate and the like usually have very comprehensive coverage. You need to install them from their home sites and then use a site called mp2p.eu (i think) to get the schedules and links to the channels. Guest lauramark
I asked on a United forum and here are some of the answers. As for the internet...you need to go on about 1 hour before it starts and know which stations are reliable...but obv. TV is better. Fox sports mate! Every match a season bar one (for some contractural reason). ESPN have (or had I think it's going to Setanta) FA Cup. Euro matches 50% ESPN and SBS (free to air). So if you're prepared to put the hours in, you'll see every match. Guest Brickie
I went to a match between Man U and Australia at the MCG some years ago, we parked at the Crown Casino as its not far from the MCG and is a secure place to park. Stopped of at the Casino itself on the way through and put $50 on Man U to win. Went to the game and had a great night, walking back to the Crown the Man U team bus stopped just in front of us and all the team got off at the Crown Towers Motel, f**king stoked.....the whole team was there talking to us outside, signing autographs etc, until some knob Aussie supporter started yelling abuse at them then the team just left.. Owhh yeah, went into Crown and picked up the winnings and it paid for the whole night out....:biglaugh:

Guest barrymiller
Satelite TV coverage in Australia is pretty good for FA Premiership, allthough of course you do need to be fully registered as a perminent resident at an address to have it installed. Ive been connecting the laptop to the TV and using a VPN service, www.laptoptelly.com works ok for BBC, ITV sport or if you have Sky Player details setup from the UK.
