The (all new) Brexit Thread

Recommended Posts

ahhhh yes....the old racist card again......you do like using that one.....so its not true then.....it never happened and is still not happening today?

No, just not relevant to this discussion, nothing to do with me or the vast vast majority of Irish people.

But as per your previous posts, you have decided that all Irish people are terrorists and anti English.  Tarnishing an entire race as the same is the definition of racism.

Try sticking to the topic at hand and articulating an argument to support your position if you can.

I believe the topic in this thread is Brexit with a recent tangent into the merits or otherwise of socialism.

wasn't the extradition bill removed by Lam.....she declared "its dead"......they got their way with that but are fighting on for political reform.....thats young people for you.....

Hong Kong people are not fighting for political reform.  They are fighting to MAINTAIN their existing ways and avoiding the political reform that is already planned and agreed.  There is absolutely nothing wrong with the extradition bill if it prevents murderers from using Hong Kong as a point of sanctuary and avoiding justice in Taiwan or China for crimes committed there.  It's like England and Wales not having an extradition bill, which would be ludicrous.

What they are protesting about is their lack of trust in the Chinese leadership, and that is very fair for them to be able to protest peacefully.  That is no different to what you will be promoting when Brexit dissipates and probably you will be more heathen about it !

of course its relevant......you seem to think that a British Government should "benchmark" its strategy or cross reference with other countries in order to benefit their citizens......I pointed out the hypocrisy in your statement with a reference to how the Irish Republicans operated for 30 or more years.....as you are Irish it also adds to the relevance......so whats racist?

I think you should drop the continual "racist" card because you have over egged it......when it gets a bit tough its the first thing you reach for......yawn.

So are you saying that I sm an Irish Republician terrorist who kneecaps people?  Or have ever been an advocate for that type of action?

If not, I fail to see how I am a hypocrite.

Stick to the topic at hand please.  If you want to discuss Irish history, I suggest you start another thread (and maybe do some reading).

I'll not be responding to your trolling on thus topic anymore.

you are too late to claim the moral high ground my friend......your numerous digs.....snide remarks and jokes at the expense of the British have put pay to that......you cannot hide your hatred of the English.......it’s there for all too see......if you want to keep it clean then you also need to abide by those rules.....and stop crying wolf.......now there’s a thought?

I have to say, I haven't seen any anti-English sentiment.  Could you perhaps quote some of it for us so we can understand why you're so angry ?

A valid solution for what?

Clearly that’s rhetorical. Or else - do you really have to ask?

Trolling again nj .
It's got everything to do with brexit .
Anything to discredit the pm , as we get closer to brexit .
If he was a concerned father in a hospital , he would be at his child's bedside .
Not being used as a front by the labour party to discredit the p.m
Keep up

So you checked his daughters admission details and the bed and are hence unequivocally telling is that it’s a pack of lies are you? There was no daughter admitted, is that your point and it’s all a vile hoax? Care to back it up?

And what’s the point exactly? So what if he is a labour activist. He can’t speak to the PM, if he happens to be there? He is a shocking Dad because he left his daughters bedside?

You’ve already told us that whilst his daughter is admitted he has no right to speak to the PM who happens to be there at the same time. Are there any other diktats we should be aware off in the wonderful Brexit world?

Look at jean claude juncker , he was adamant a few weeks ago, confident in the e.us position  , like some on this message board , but hes wavering now .

Squeaky bum time , as fergie used to call it 😂

i don't know what you call a success, but being a Birmingham City fan anything better than a 3.0 hiding must make the day seem brighter?

There will be a deal I reckon, but seeing that the EU have not wavered a millimetre in 3 years and haven't needed to give us anything at all .....they only have to concede that millimetre and Johnson will bite their freakin' hands off to accept, and you will also grab it with both hands just so you can face yourself in the mirror again..

The EU know this,  they have the UK just where they want them, turning slowly on the spit.  They will come out net positive.

If you don't go after what you want, you'll never have it. If you don't ask, the answer is always no. If you don't step forward, you're always in the same place...

Its nothing to dowith  you being ok with it... Its the forum rules, we cannot have individual rules for members, been there done that many years ago, and its all ok until something is written they dont like and then we get the rule book slung at us along with ''why didnt you do anything'' comments... hence rules are rules,. The rules state no personal or derogatory comments,, i am really struggling of late to understand why the same few member just dont seem to understand this... It is wearing very thin and spoiling many threads so will soon end up with longer bans being given out.

Judging by the number of Chinese students driving around Canberra in Mercedes, Audis and BMWs I'd say they do alright.

I rent a daily car park space off a Chinese girl living in East Acton.  She's 19, studying at ANU, apartment is a 3 bedder worth about 1.5 mill and she's renting it as a student.  The shops and restaurants round there are becoming amazing...they're building a mini-City.

There are a lot of terms that are misused.

Socialism, capitalism, state socialism, state capitalism, communism, democratic socialism

When someone says look at the Nordic countries as an example of socialism, and then someone counters that the Nordic countries are not socialist, my answer is screw the labels - look to the Nordic countries as an example. They are a model that we can aspire to. Put whatever label you want on them.

But Corbyn isn't offering this which is why I don't support Corbyn.

Why are you supporting Corbyn (which you are doing whether you realise or not)?

I also am not to bothered by the name calling......I’ve had to deal with far worse on a face to face basis......however more recently having had family members referred to by some low life’s on here I am all for the way this site is policed and grateful for it.....what I would add @calNgary is this over use of the racism card.......it’s being used now as a default argument when individuals have nothing left to argue with......how many times does someone need to be incorrectly labelled a racist before it becomes offensive itself?

Germanys 3rd biggest export market for cars is the u.k .

Trump is waiting in the wings for brexit to be finalised ( maybe johnson too ) , and then he will go after the e.u with tariffs

Seriously - he shouldn't. He won't make it far past Oct the 14th if he does.

I don't understand why all the press and govt are trying to convince us that the EU are desperate. Even if they were desperate - there isn't really a need to convince us that they are desperate.

The EU want a deal, they are not silly. But Boris needs a deal or there is no more Boris.

Simples

The rest I suggest you take a sedative for, possibly a calming cup of tea?

And why would the US and UK stop buying German cars, deal or no deal.

Tariffs are a 2 edged sword, remember the 1920's and 30's poverty, that was due to a trade war started by the US, they suffered as much as anyone, so don't think bojo snuggling up to Trump is going to save us, we are collateral damage in his ambition to annihilate any competition to his   domination of the world, the reason he wants us under his wing is we will be a bridgehead to undermining the EU, the only trading block, other than China, that can can thwart American Capitalism's desire to control the worlds economy, and you and your populist nationalists are serving it up on a plate to him.

Jusr think, where does all these conspiracy theories come from, who pays for the people dreaming this stuff up, Putin and Trump are of one mind, obliterate any opposition to their economic dominance..

Oh the folly of believing in Capitalism when you make no profit from it.

If the snide remarks are at the expense of the British, why do you presume that translates as a hatred of the English? Britain is not England, England is not Britain.

I'm sure there is enough (justifiable) anger to be shared between our nation's as my Scottish countrymen, sadly, played a prominent and willing role in the subjugation, colonisation and horrific treatment of the Irish people.

If we do not accept the full honesty of our history, we cannot learn from it and move on, together. A lesson Scotland is slowly learning and one that England will one day have to face
