CeeJayKav
I submitted an EOI in the Victoria website in the hope of getting nominated for the 190 visa however i was knocked back within 24hrs reason being no ties to the state. Does anyone know what ties they are looking for? or how best i can improve my EOI. I've had an interview for a job in Melbourne which was positive awaiting paperwork for this. I have 65 points on skills select. Thanks Cathrine
Renebo
What do u mean no ties? What was the response?
CeeJayKav
Hi Renebo, thank you for responding, please see the response below. Ive copied it to make it clearer. Can see my original question needs more detail really. Thanks Cathrine Thank you for your application for Victorian Government nomination under the 190 - Skilled Nominated visa scheme. Following a review of your application, we regret to inform you that you have not been selected for visa nomination by the Victorian Government.Your application for Victorian Government state nomination was reviewed individually and assessed with a focus on your ability to address a number of criteria, including: your ability to meet the minimum eligibility criteria, the demand for your particular skills and expertise, and your ability to find work in Victoria, the suitability and transferability of your qualifications, skills and experience – including any specialist capabilities – to the needs of Victoria’s labour market, your ability and commitment to establishing yourself, and any dependents, in Victoria, the number of nomination applications received relative to the number of nomination places available for your occupation. Nominated skilled migrants are required to live and work in Victoria for the first two years of their nominated visa. In assessing an application, the Victorian Government considers how well an applicant can demonstrate a commitment to settling in Victoria, such as connections with Australia through family, friends, previous travel, study or employment. We need to ensure that nominated migrants have the necessary resources, support and commitment to successfully migrate to Victoria and, in this case, it has been determined that your application did not adequately demonstrate your commitment to Victoria. There are other visa pathways for highly skilled workers who want to live and work in Victoria and we encourage you to investigate other visa options on the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) website: www.immi.gov.au. We wish you all the best for your future endeavours.
Renebo
Hi Catherine, So firstly, I am not a migration agent and I suggest you seek advice from an agent. 1. Did you do a skills assessment? 2. What skill is it? 3. Did you have a look on Victoria's site if they sponsor that skill? http://www.liveinvictoria.vic.gov.au/information/?a=499312 4. How did you proof that you will have a lot of work prospects? We did searches to see how many jobs are available and did screen prints of this as well as job statistics. We also had to get emails from people that are already in Victoria asking them about areas with schools to show that we have done research based on our budget etc. We also got statistics on unemployment rates showing that we wouldn't necessarily be without at job. We got salary rates for both our jobs.....as well as get together's and shops only selling out type of products. so I guess you first need to determine if your skill is on Victoria's list http://www.liveinvictoria.vic.gov.au/information/?a=499312 Hope this helps

Renebo
hi, Ok so the requirement for a Registered Nurse (Mental Health) is the below. 54422 Registered Nurse (Mental Health) 7.0 in each band Two years Must have registration (or approval in principle) from the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia. Did you do the English test with those scores? Do you have 2 years experience? Did you provide the evidence of you being registered on APHRA they say on Victoria's site (as above) you have to be registered at http://www.nursingmidwiferyboard.gov.au/Registration-and-Endorsement/International.aspx You will get a lot of info on here http://melbourne.geografia.com.au/industries Also I think its worthwhile giving evidence of your talk to a hospital. I think it might be worthwhile creating a new post asking if there is another Mental Health Nurse on this forum that might give you some pointers. hope this helps. Renebo
This is brilliant news!!! I was actually looking at this post yesterday to see when you should be getting an answer!!! Well done to you!! Gosh so now, 1. I think first thing is you apply for the visa, 2. then you are able to get the HAP nr to book your medicals. 3. Apply for your Police Clearance you can do that online (if you have been in another country for longer than 12 months in the last 10 years, you would need a PCC from there as well) 4. Complete forms 80 and 1221. This is what we did and got a direct grant Not long now!!! Good luck

When you submit the visa form on the immiaccount do you have to make the payment for the visa then? Can i apply for the police clearance now? do u have a link please. Where do i access the form 80 and 1221? I ended up not engaging an agent not sure if i should now.
Renebo
yeah this is really good!! Yes payment is taken when you submit the visa application. Just remember to inform Victoria state as they mentioned under the 'Next Steps' header in the email they sent you. https://www.acro.police.uk/police_certificates.aspx The Police clearance is fairly quick, you should get it within a week or two. When they issue your visa, they will use the PCC issue date to determine your First Entry date i.e. if you get your PCC on 20 March 2018 your first entry must be before 20 March 2019. I have attached the forms. Remember with the medicals you have to use a Panel doctor https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/lega/lega/help/immigration-panel-physicians Let me know if you need more help, I will see how I can help. I am applying for Analyst Programmer with 70 points but my agent said i could go with the state nomination and get 5 points more but with an additional cost of 150 $. Can anyone please confirm if this is the case for all under 190 visa? Thanks a lot.
