Cherith12
Hi We have been in touch with Engineers Australia to get my husbands experience assessed, and they are requesting a letter from his HR department listing his duties for all positions held over the past ten years He has a degree in Mechanical Engineering (which is why we have gone to Engineers Australia) however he has never worked as a Mechanical Engineer (he has worked as a Project Engineer, Production Engineer, Planning Engineer and Project Controls Manager) and we wondered if anyone else has been in this situation and what the outcome was? wrussell
From what you have posted, it looks as if you have lodged an application with EA. If this is the case you should provide what has been requested. Before you do so, it might pay you to check ANZSCO for the duties of eligible and 'closely related' engineering occupations. For a start you could search ANZSCO 233513 and take it from there. Sometimes HR departments cite historical duty statements that do not reflect the duties that an employee was peforming. Fully advising about this goes beyond what can be provided on a public forum. Best of luck.
