Uk2oz
Hi all. Myself and my partner and son are hoping to eventually move out to Aus. I am a type 1 diabetic well controlled but I've had 1 corneal transplant and I'm waiting to have the other eye done. This is for a condition called fuchs endothelial dystrophy and not diabetes related. Once I've had the transplants I will be ok. I'm wondering how this would affect my application. Any help is appreciated
VERYSTORMY
When ever there are medical complications, I would recommend you speak to a specialist agent such as George Lombard. Normally, diabetes isn't, on its own, an issue. Though complications from it can be. However, having also undergone transplant, depending on what drugs you need, it could be as they will want to assess the long term cost implications
Uk2oz
Hi many thanks for your reply. I think your right we should speak with an agent as it minefield. The transplant doesn't require anti rejection drugs as it's the cornea.
