You won't know me by this username but we met up way back in 2009/2010 (with all the other crew) and done the Meetup before our Gap Year in Oz in 2010. I thought I was the only one nearly 9 Years later still going through Australian Visa Process, I am in Perth. It sucks you were so close to your PR before the personal issues you had. I hope you are feeling better now. Anyway, All the best ;-) I absolutely remember you, we met up in Leeds before everyone came out to Oz!!! It was me Wayne and Dave and then your group that came over a few weeks later!! How odd to both be on here...! I am really gutted about my current circumstance but you just got to get on with it I suppose. I will find a way back! At least your in Oz still though ? Send me a DM let me know what your up to! Hi Guys Just wanted to post an update, as today I received my Registration In Principle letter from AHPRA! To say I'm ecstatic is an understatement. Not sure if there have been changes in requirements at AHPRA or they were just happy with all my credentials, but I'm stoked either way. Possibly they were happy with my PGDip course on it's own, or the extra degree level study I have completed (ICU nurse course and mentorship) helped as well. Now on to the ANMAC skills assessment.. amberlight
Hi guys, I'm new to this forum. I applied to ANMAC last month. Not heard from them yet but just concerned regarding my degree. I did the DipHE of adult nursing and then over the years have topped up to my degree with relevant courses at the same university (Principles of neurosciences for health and Principles of Emergency care). I have a degree but it says 'specialist practice' not adult nursing on the certificate so will they accept it being a top up? Any advice/put my mind to rest would be great thank you. Good luck to you all. I'm hoping to get 5 points with my letter of determination and apply SA state sponsorship by xmas. Anyone else at the same stage as me. Hi LeeH, Could you give me a rough timeline on your AHPRA application? I'm waiting for a visa grant and trying to time everything just right so I can get flights out to oz and start job hunting asap.... obvs don't want to receive the AHPRA go ahead too soon and have to make an expensive trip out there! Richard Gregan
Yes, 3 or 4 months for AHPRA is common. Regards, Richard
Tiltonkara29
I’m new to this forum, I just have one question. Do I need to apply to both the AHPRA and AMNAC if I am only planning on coming to Australia to work as a nurse for 12 months on a working holiday visa? And not a skilled migration visa. My understanding is that you would only need to apply to AHPRA .. but if you then chose to migrate, once you have registration you could do the modified skills assessment.
leejay87
HI there guys, I am now to this forum, I don't know if I posted on the right thread but anyway I hope someone can enlighten me about my situation. To start off, I basically have a total experience of 8 years (3 years Philippines, 3 years Kuwait and 2 years Saudi). The problem is this, my Kuwait experience is not a Nurse/clinical job, I am registered in Kuwait as an EMS. In addition, my Kuwait experience cannot be verified because the company I worked for closed 2 years ago. I am registered in Kuwait but my license cannot be verified as well for the reason that I need an endorsement form my previous employer to be verified by the Ministry of Health. Now my question is, will there be a problem during my skills assessment because of this or they will just slash off my Kuwait experience and consider it as working gap or they will not proceed my skills assessment? Thanks! Please advise.
Pauline Mohammed
Hi there im a nurse also degree level I have had an Eoi in since beginning of year still no invite. If I had applied for aphra at the same time as skills assessment I would have had to fly out to oz just to show face with no guarantee of invite or visa. Personally I would do anmac first then try get visa before doing aphra. Hope all goes well
Richard Gregan
There's no doubt the 12 week window to register in person is a bit of a pain. AHPRA likely put this into effect due to a large number of unregistered applications sitting on their database.
