Hi,

We let out 2 properties in the UK, from memory your letting agent should have a form for you to sign or you go online on the gov website and once thats done you'll get all your rental income. The agent only with holds the tax element if the forms are not completed.

This is from memory from a few years ago, but your letting agent should know what you need to do!

Yep, pretty much the same with us too a year ago. Your letting agent should be informative on this, you will have to register on the Gov web site and fill in the forms, and if we (being crash test dummies for anything IT) could do that on line then it should be a breeze for just about everyone else.

Good luck

Have a look at the Non Resident Landlord form on the gov.uk web site - and then contact a tax accountant if you think you'll need any help with UK and/or Aus tax returns.

Best regards.
