Bound4Tassie
Thought it might be a fun thread to share what you do on a day to day basis and also give others an idea of somewhere to visit in Tassie? Post photos if you wish. Might be just walking the dog at your local beach or a weekend exploring some new corner of Tas. Today the kids caught their first waves at Ulverstone beach on their new body boards. They got a "Whoop" from a friendly local surfer which they loved !
Toots
I walked up to Coles Beach but was too late to take the dog onto it as from this month until March no dogs allowed after 8am so walked back to the dog beach but the tide was in so he didn't have much sand to run around on.
Bound4Tassie
We went to Wings Wildlife Park. Kids really enjoyed it. Some beautiful scenery too.
Bound4Tassie
We went to my favourite Tassie beach today at Hawley... Older 2 had great fun in the little gentle waves. Baby ate sand. Tonight I went out for dinner @ Mrs Jones at Devonport Bluff with some of my new colleagues. Was divine! They paid...even better! Lol! Very welcoming!

Toots
How are your children settling here Bound4Tassie? Sounds like they are enjoying themselves.
Bound4Tassie
I do love Boat Harbour as well. Spoiled for choice really! Kids loving the waves/ beaches. Just need to find our own place so we can sort school for the eldest one. Running out of time before they break up though. I think once we get into normal routines we can all settle properly! Toots
^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ You've certainly chosen a very good place to live. I've heard that some people think it's far too cold to bathe in the sea in Tassie. What a joke. We've been swimming in the sea most days for weeks now. This does surprise me, I shall go for a paddle next month and test it out.
Toots
We had the place to ourselves for our swim at a little cove very near Bluff Beach. Nobody seems to go there as you have to walk over pebbles and rocks to get there. Lovely warm day. Harry the dog kept himself busy hunting for crabs.

Toots
Husband and myself went to Swansea on the east coast for the day. It is a very nice little seaside village on a large curved bay. Passed through the old towns of Perth and Campbell Town on the way there. The jetty at Swansea.
Bound4Tassie
Took the kids to the kite festival in Devonport. They loved seeing the helicopter which did a teddy bear patachute drop for charity. ?

Toots
^ ^ ^ ^ ^ I was wondering when you were going to be here Drumbeat. That rain yesterday was badly needed but hope it didn't spoil your holiday! The next few day are forecast nice weather - at least here on the north west coast. libbye
Can you enjoy lovely walks in Tas ? Obviously the beaches look fabulous for this but I was wondering if you have access to country walks through open land and forests.

You can walk wherever you like using common sense. https://www.discovertasmania.com.au/what-to-do/outdoors-and-adventure/walking
libbye
Thank you for the link. Well that answers my question doesn it! Sounds fantastic and you don't have to travel far which is even better. Not too hot either. My daughter posts a lot of walks she does in Cairns but although it is beautiful and green would be far too hot for us oldies even though she and her husband go out early morning. They do look healthy though I have to say. We're all a bit pale and insipid here at present. Awaiting some very cold weather and although where we are in the Morbihan we'll still cop low temps.
