I've been to Melbourne 12 times and it was freezing 11 of those, the other time it was 44 degrees. Plus, what you describe, if indeed that is the cause effect, is climate change not 'global warming'.

It's freezing here. This last 2 weeks has been Baltic, it was very mild before that. This is comfortably the coldest period we've endured here since we moved back in April 2019. Before this, I reckon we had freezing nights about 5 or 6 times in 3 winters, this has been much colder.

Thanks for the well wishing, all well here, only 27.5 inches for the last 6 days, inches. Our village is quite good, no flooding due to the adequate drains and that we are on the coast.

I remember that in 2008, Mackay had a deluge and recorded 24inches for 24 hours. Next day, we received 17 inches of rain in 24 hours, so, not too bad.

No idea what the city has but have heard that a few places have minor flooding.

Cheers, Bobj.

Apart from an occasional overnight shower we haven't had rain for weeks.  Everything looking parched.  Today it is bucketing it down.  Hope it has cleared up by the time Innervoice arrives on holiday from Cairns.

Hit 40. Yesterday in work

Yesterday was a shocker here.  VERY heavy rain, wind blowing from all directions and quite cold too.  Made a right mess of our roses.  Spent most of the morning tidying up the garden.  Today the sun is shining again and 19C.

What the heck is going on with our weather here in north Tassie?  Yesterday was a lovely calm day with a sort of autumnal feeling about it.  At 1am I awoke to howling wind, rain and thunder and lightning.  There were tree branches blocking bits of road this morning and the sea was wild.  Now the wind has picked up again and squally showers on and off all day.  A taste of what to expect during winter.  Still prefer that to hot weather though.

Very windy here today.  Days are cooling and nights more so.  A shame as Enlighten Festival is underway

Same here on the Sunshine Coast, 32’ for the next few days and feels far more humid than it was in summer. Gave in today and put the aircon on, its hardly been on all summer.

Hoping you PIO members in Melbourne are OK after the storm and hoping it doesn't head south to us.

Perfect weather here.  Had a swim.  Probably the last swim in the sea until next summer.

We got the rain (19.4mm).  Could have done without the blocked down pipes and main drain…

I noticed from both the AFL in Adelaide and NRL in Sydney it was bucketing down, but not a drop in Surfers.
