Political correctness gone mad

He is an Aussie you know.

Humor was a bit different in the 70s as we all know. Still I think most people loved Dame Edna.

I've met Barry Humphries.  Still don't like him. Pompous.

Edna Everage? Just about the lamest act to come out of Australia. Barry Humphries is a bellend too by all accounts.

Occasionally I get to watch TV from the 70s and 80s and it does remind me of how much we have progressed. I would suggest people should watch some of this cringeworthy TV just to remind themselves.

PC is like F1 racing. It may not always be that practical. But some of the practices have made it through and made things safer and better.

Have we progressed or are we running out of things we can laugh about?

I find him extremely funny and a clever bloke. On the other hand there's mrs Browns boys, which some people find funny and I think is just plain awful.

I know this is a bit serious for this thread but didn't some schoolteacher in France get beheaded last week by a Muslim student. I guess that cones under the political correctness banner.

The BBC is censoring Fairytale of New York again. What’s going on?

Radio 1 won’t play The Pogues’ original to protect its ‘particularly sensitive’ listeners

BBC is like the ABC- frightened of their own shadows these days. The ABC spends much of its time criticising so called right wing government ( nothing remotely like right wing here in Australia but never mind) and then they whinge that they are short of funding.  Why would you fund someone who tries to destroy you?

A bit juvenile I thought.

Michael Mcintyre is funny. I like him.

a load of sneering c4 lefty "comedians".  I couldn't get through 1 episode... not funny in the slightest.  I agree with @Parley very juvenile.

Well, it started out on Dave actually, as none of the msm would touch it. Thought that would appeal.

As for left wing, I don't think they have ever mentioned politics. Ever. So how does political leaning matter?

It can be silly, it's often visual comedy which doesn't often appeal to me. But I do find it funny. Maybe if you gave it a chance. Open mind and all that.

It can't be much fun if you ban all left wing comedians from your life. Who does that leave you with?

Michael McIntyre is ok, but it's a bit prescription comedy.

He's certainly no Peter Kay.

The problem with right wing comedians is there's not many of them, and they really aren't that funny.

Do you think we should have positive discrimination for right wing comedians?

Fairytale of New York was always "a bit Radio 2" as John Peel put it.

The Sickbed of Cuchulainn a bit less so maybe.
