Toots
Showers on and off. Good for the farmers. We have had a lot of rain this winter so the dams on all the farms up here on the north west coast are full. This is a pic of a local dairy farm. The big sprinkler system in the background utilises the dam water in the summer when we have weeks of dry weather - keeping the grass growing.

Gbye grey sky
First wet weather for at least 10 weeks today. Really welcome for farmers, gardners and anyone with fire risk concerns but not going to be anywhere near as much as we need - nor indeed as much as we were expecting originally this weekend. Sun will return tomorrow.

Toots
Torrential rain in Sydney and surrounding areas causing flooding and in central Queensland horrendous bushfires. Thousands of people are being evacuated from Gracemere to nearby Rockhampton as a fast-moving fire moves south from Stanwell. Parents due to pick up their kids from school are being urged not to go home but to take their families to the Rockhampton Showgrounds. The worst of the bushfires is the Deepwater blaze which has burnt 20,000 hectares of bush and farming property and destroyed up to four homes since Saturday.

Cal x There is a huge smoke cloud that has come up from the Deepwater area, otherwise the Mackay northern area is ok, albeit very dry. Thanks for your concern, @calNgary. Cheers, Bobj.
