Child visa (subclass 101)

Hi we have  a son 31 and a daughter 26 who live back in the UK, both have now been classed as disabled due to Chronic Arthritis among other ailments and both are finding it difficult and have asked if they could come and live with us. Our daughter also has 2 children one with Autism and CD AD but is unmarried.

Having looked at the child visa information it seems pretty straight forward but I wanted to know if anyone else has done this for elder children under the disability class and what, if any, benefits or funds they would receive if they came here.

Thanks in advance

Completely agree with Snifter. What you are wanting to do is most definitely not straightforward.

I think you will have some difficulty proving that both your adult children are suddenly financially dependent on you - particularly if they currently live in the UK which pays benefits for disabled people.

You need expert advice from a good agent.

The disability issue is probably going to pose huge barriers and the two agents who specialise in applications with medical issues are  George Lombard and Peter Bollard. Australia isn’t keen on importing people who are going to cost the tax payer loads of money and, as has been said, it’s going to be hard to prove financial dependency for an adult from a country with a welfare system.
