Sana124
Hi all, My husband, who is a New Zealander, plans to apply for his PR (stream of subclass 189). The application states that there are two options - either apply for a HAP ID first and go for the health check, or lodge the application and get one done if requested by the government. I am inclined to apply for the health check first, but my husband wants to just submit the application. Has anyone had experience lodging an application without a health check? Would love to hear your thoughts. Cheers

The Case Officer will request them at some point during processing. Most people wait until requested as the medical only has a 'life' of 12 months and if that expires before the visaq is granted then they have to be done again. Parley
I wouldn't think there was much point for a Kiwi to apply for PR. Just live and work here freely which New Zealanders can do.
Guest
I agree with Nemesis. I'd wait for a CO to ask as they are only valid for 12 months. No point rushing ahead and a CO will ask when the time is right.
VERYSTORMY
As per above, wait until requested. Doing them early does not speed up the process as they just sit in the background until the CO would have requested them.
wrussell
'They' will not tell you the result of a health check until you lodge a visa application. If you think there could be a health issue, get some professional advice, otherwisw wait.
