RFHLFC1984
I have been offered a career opportunity moving from the UK to Australia. My partner (not married) is currently in the RAF and would be reluctant to leave. Is it possible to transfer from RAF to RAAF? I have seen previous posts on here but they are from more than 5 years ago so wanted to know what was still relevant or any advice on how to find this out? VERYSTORMY
The Australian armed forces do recruit UK service personnel for lateral transfer. However, I have never seen RAF recruited. He can though look on the ADF web site. But it is a long process and needs the cooperation of the RAF if he isn't at the end of his contract. RFHLFC1984
That's a shame. Thank you though for the information.
stevej
I have seen the recruitment from the RAF whilst i was serving and it used to be a campaign every 5 or so years. It hasnt been done for a while and the process can take a couple of years to go through too.
Melb2016
It is possible. I have colleagues who've done the RAF to RAAF sideways move. Sent from my iPhone using PomsinOz
