Mobile Networks in Tas

I  have Optus with no problems and it works for me here in Tasmania. Ask Toots which server she uses! My OH  has Telstra and this pretty much covers the whole island. A friend of ours residing here in Tassie uses a sim card from Aldi which has the Telstra network & numbers for a far cheaper price, but she obtained this in Melbourne as  we dont have an Aldi here as yet.

There are various other companies eg Telechoice  / Boost    (also uses the Telstra network) etc but imo Telstra  is probably safer for a good all round  reception.

I personally dont know of  them at all, sorry!

Looks as though in Devonport they have various outlets.... you stated you needed a prepaid at Melbourne airport as soon as you land, but I dont think you will find Amaysim there!

Who are you with for broadband Evandale?  At the moment I am with Telstra but when I go to the NBN it is a lot more expensive than some of the other providers.

At the moment Toots we are with Telstra Wireless, there are so many packages available, I have to do some research before committing to a contract.

The NBN is here now and we have to switch to it by next May.  Yes, I will have to do research too.  A couple of times I've had to contact Telstra when the internet became 'unavailable' and the very helpful person on the other end of the phone was in the Philippines - of course.  A local Telstra chap in Devonport ended up having to fix the problem and when I asked for his business card in case I needed to contact him again his reply was "No, you'll have to ring the helpline again - in the Philippines".  Suppose all the providers are like that now.
