mdabdulateeq Posted July 4, 2017 Share Posted July 4, 2017 I am on 457 Visa and applied for 189 Visa 3 months ago and waiting for the grant. My wife is pregnant and expecting the baby by the end of July. What would be the status of the baby if the baby is born before we get the grant? Is there anything I should update to DIBP before hand? wrussell Posted July 5, 2017 Share Posted July 5, 2017 Your child would automatically be granted the same via that you hold, unless born in Australia after your 189 visa grant, in which s/he would be an Australian citizen by birth.
