haynesy
Hi, Does anyone know if it's possible to go out to Australia on a 600 long stay tourist visa and then to apply onshore for the partner visa? My partner is Australian and both our children have dual citizenship so we're trying to look at ways we could get there sooner than later. On reading the long stay visa info it says that the visa could be granted with a 'no further stay' condition. Do you know under what circumstances that could happen? Thank you. Guest
That isn't the intent of that visa. If you plan to apply for a partner visa do so off shore is the best course of action. Or if you must apply on shore just go over on the normal 3 month tourist visa and lodge before that runs out. You would, iirc, then go onto a bridging visa with full work rights while awaiting a decision.
