lealoub
Hi all,Hubbie works for an Australian company here in the U.K. and they have informed him he can transfer to a job in Sydney anytime. We would really like to give it a go but not sure where we would start! Any advice please. We are married couple, both 35 with 3 boys. Thank you! Skani
"Transfer" with which visa? The type of visa is crucial in determining your potential length of stay, entitlements and costs (for example, for education). Also, have they nominated a salary? Sydney is a very expensive city. LKC
As Skani mentioned, you need to find out a few more details about the visa they would be offering first. If it is a permanent visa, then you would be in a much better position than if they were offering a temporary one.
Alan Collett
A great outcome would be a permanent residency visa sponsored by the employer. Have a look at the requirements for the Direct Entry stream of subclass 186: http://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Visa-1/186- Good luck!
