Guest
Just as the title suggests. If you were to take out private medical insurance in Australia, does the company check if you had any pre-existing conditions in the UK?
NickyNook
Health Insurance providers in Australia don't know or care about your pre-existing conditions. Anyone - regardless of health or age - is entitled to the same coverage at the same price as anyone else. You won't even get asked about your health when you apply. There are waiting periods after your insurance starts, when you cannot make a claim but when that period is over, you can claim for anything. Note that I'm only talking about Health Insurance - Life insurance and travel insurance providers DO need to know about pre- existing conditions before they will insure you.
