Wow @Paul7. The feeling of relief must be incredible! No more waiting for you... that's it now! I'm so looking forward to that day!

Good news for those heading to SA as the Adelaide office are obviously in gear now. I'm heading to Victoria so goodness knows which 'office' deals with me!

Thank you so much!

Excellent news - but also soo unfair!

I have submitted a 190 visa for the same occuptation, but I submitted mine on the 2nd March! I had C/O contact 3 weeks later and submitted Police and Med checks on the 30th March and still waiting! I wish there was some logic that could be applied to understand when I can expect my visa to be approved.

Please don't get me wrong, very happy that visas are being issued and other people are being successful - I guess I can just hope that my approval isn't too far behind your grant.

Thank you Pete. Please be patient. Everything works out for good!

Great news, Paul7.

As we are all so fed up with all this wait, perhaps it is good to have something more relaxing. I have been living in Melbourne for nearly 7 years so if anyone goes to Melbourne and would like to chat about school, accommodation, etc. I am happy to help.

Thank you so much Liz! I have to reside in SA for 2 years as a commitment. But please let me know if you know anyone from SA so that I can find help in getting some shared accommodation.

I got my PCC in March 2017 and Meds in May 2017. My initial entry date is in November 2017 as mentioned in the grant.

Dunno how they calculate this time period but it is a lot quicker than what I estimated.

Thanks for sharing the details.  It seems the time duration given for first entry is not much.

Wow, long thread, but incredibly informative nonetheless! Thanks!

I just thought I would add my data to the mix, although don't hate me as it was (it seems) quick!!!

Visa Lodged 16/5/17

CO appointed 22/5/17

PCC submitted 23/5/17

PCC returned 7/6/17

Medicals 10/6/17

Visa Granted 3/7/17

Now in the process of selling the house and 3 month notice period at work!

Paul7, I am moving to Adelaide too, but not until the end of the year, it would be good to share info/stories???

DIBP seems to be granting 189 more now. There's one grant reported today. Email received at 4.30pm oz time. Guy lodged on 24 Mar 2017 and responded to CO contact on 19 May.

I think I'm going to put this thing aside and move on with life as though there's nothing happening. These things usually appear when u least expect it. (pacifying myself) [emoji28]

Wow. Your dates are very similar to mine.

I'm starting to think they are prioritizing SA sponsorships first before the rest.

Hi IIodza,

No I didn't have to fill in form 1399. I did fill in form 80, as I was advised it may be necessary, but the CO never asked for it.

Regards

Hi Everyone,

I'm after a bit of advice although I'm told a crystal ball is required at the moment to correctly predict processing times. I've been invited to apply for both 189 and 190 after submitting EOI's. Job is ICT Security Specialist - on shore in Queensland (here on a 457). Have 75 points for the 189 and 80 for 190. I can't apply for both visas at the same time...straw poll of which might have the fastest turnaround?

Thanks

Yes, that may be possible.

Still, fingers crossed for you.

Thanks. Praying for all those before me to get their grants too. There's too many simply waiting far too long. I'd be demoralised too if others after me got theirs before I got mine :(

Just my opinion.

I'd bank on 189 cos simply, I can go whichever state I want. And as it seems now, 189 is being processed earlier than those on 190.

Just a bit of an update. According to Dept. Immigration adviser (by phone) applications are *normally* prioritised by points, then occupation, then whether a state nomination has been approved followed by onshore/offshore, other circumstances, no. of existing approvals this financial year etc. So given that we already live here, have the state nomination and have 80 points I'll be applying via 190 route. I will keep the thread updated on processing timeline.

Oh my word guys. The day has come.  After nearly seven months of agonising waiting (close to break down at some stages!) our visa has finally been granted. I am in complete and utter shock. I hope with all my heart that you all receive the good news you are waiting for soon as I know from experience that it is so hard hearing if someone else's grant when you are still waiting for your own.  Much love and thanks for all the support and words of empathy of the past few months.  I will visit regularly to watch the rest come in ?
