Growing up I loved The Rolf Harris show and he was a positive influence in how I viewed Australia, which led me to visit and eventually migrate.

It's inexcusable what he did, and I find it very sad that someone with so much warmth, humour, and talent ended his life disgraced and an outcast. His wife was an absolute rock to have stood by him through all that - never underestimate the power of love. Some say his prison sentence was too short, but I think spending the remainder of his life as a social pariah without an audience would have been a much harsher punishment for him.

Let's just dismiss his six decade career as an entertainer which gave great pleasure to millions of people because he was a 'convicted nonce'. I suppose the coverage of Nelson Mandela's death was a bit too long because he was a convicted terrorist.

In addition to the noncing, a bit of career perspective is also required I think. This wasn't Beethoven or Van Gogh going toes up, it was Rolf Harris. The extra leg and didgeridoo man.

That said, I appreciated his concern for animals (homo sapiens excepted).

I hardly every watch TV so didn't see anything about Rolf Harris.  Heard about it on BBC Scotland but they didn't give much info other than that he'd died.

He was a very talented performer. 

Perhaps didn't realise the seriousness of what he may have done back in the 70s and 80s. I don't know the details.

I always thought it was strange that Bill Wyman never seemed to suffer any consequences for what he did.
