Maternity pay - UK/ emigrating to Melbs

Hello everyone,

I will be emigrating to Australia whilst on maternity leave, and I was wondering if anyone else has done this?

I currently get 9 months maternity pay and I may be leaving at 6 months?

I think it would be statutory pay by this point in the UK? I'd assume I wouldn't get it in Australia with being on a partner visa ect and not having worked there which would make sense!

You won't get maternity pay here that I am aware of though someone may say otherwise.

IIRC you can claim UK maternity pay if you've contributed enough in the UK prior to your move and other conditions. Well, you used to be able to. Can't recall if that was employer or state paid but I remember looking into it in case I was pregnant when we moved and I would have been eligible at that point.

I'm sure the info on what may be available to you is on the UK gov website somewhere :)
