Description

  • Manually harvesting designated crops (cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, cos lettuce, baby leave, etc) with a knife in line with customer specification and cutting procedure. To ensure that food safety & quality is not compromised as a result of harvesting activities.
  • Ensure that a safe working environment in maintained by understanding and implementing safety policies that adhere to legal standards.
  • Assist in the packing, stacking and sorting of designated crops, including folding crates/carton boxes. (up to 20kg)
  • Transplanting of designated crops following efficient transplanting techniques to optimise transplanting activities.
  • Operate tractor only if authorised by harvesting supervisor. Paddock workers must possess a current driving licence and has been trained on safe tractor operations to drive a tractor.
  • Weeding when necessary.
  • Cleaning of equipment, farm machinery, working vehicles or other equipment as directed.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with company policies, procedures and instructions.
  • Other farm and shed work as directed by Supervisors.

To apply for this job, you must:

  • be at least hold residency or valid visa to work in Australia
  • able to work 6 days a week, including weekend and public holiday
  • be flexible with working hours
  • be flexible with job assignment
  • be physically fit and cope with fast pace working environment
  • have good attention to detail
  • have your own reliable vehicle to get to work
  • organise your own accommodation
  • be able to attend the job interview held at the workplace

The pay rate is $22.13/hr (Mon – Sun) and Public holiday rate is $39.83/hr, under Horticulture Award, Casual, Level 1

No experience required, but previous vegetable harvesting experience will be an advantage.

This job is a "specified work" that fulfils 2nd Working Holiday Visa Application
