TeacherBen 16 Posted May 5, 2017 Hi all, My partner and I are currently gathering evidence to apply for a partner visa (onshore). My question is, does the bridging visa A kick in as soon as you've paid the visa fee, or do you need to submit a certain amount of evidence to before the bridging visa is granted? With the changes in partner visa legislation potentially in the pipeline we'd like to apply for the visa sooner rather than later and then add evidence as we go. Is this possible? lilpenguinlost 21 Posted May 5, 2017 (edited) Typically, within 24 hours (usually within minutes) of completing payment on the partner visa, you will be granted a Bridging Visa A. The Bridging Visa does not come into effect (kick in) until your existing visa expires. It is only after payment that you will have the ability to upload your supporting evidence (from Payment to finishing uploading all documents took me about 3 weeks). https://partnervisa820uploadguide.neocities.org/ The above link is a guide that covers: The experience immediately after clicking the submit button till completing all uploads Examples of evidence to upload How to organise these documents for use with ImmiAccount Good luck!
