Vita Posted May 4, 2017 Posted May 4, 2017 Hi all, I have a question regarding the changes on April 19, 2017. Although the changes should be about 457 visas, there are some changes to 186 as wellhttps://www.border.gov.au/WorkinginAustralia/Documents/reforms-australia-permanent-employer-sponsored-migration-programme.pdf I am looking to get a 3 years contract (with likely extension) as a university lecturer and I am looking to negotiate a DE 186 nomination. The university lecturer is listed on "combined list of eligible skill occupations" which are required for 186 nominations; however, there is a "caveat of 3 years of work experience" and I'm worried does that apply for 186 as well. https://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Work/Work/Skills-assessment-and-assessing-authorities/skilled-occupations-lists/combined-stsol-mltssl Previously, university stuff was waived of previous work experience requirement, and also from labor market evaluations. I'm wondering is that still in place or this new caveat will apply. Best, Vita
