Renewing RRV less than 2 years

I've been offered a job that is suggested as Temp to Perm, with an initial term of 6 months paid through the agency.

I've only been in Australia for 5 months and the travel facility on my PR has expired. 

Has anyone got any experience of obtaining a 1 year RRV with such employment ties? Do you think its likely that it will be issued?

I'd like to take a 2 week holiday in 3 months time back to the UK to see family who've had a bit of a tough time lately.
