Best way to find a sponsorship job?

Hi all,

I'm a 30 year old IT Technical Support Engineer / Systems Administrator from the UK with 4 years experience. I'm a single male hoping to emigrate on my own.

After spending two years living in Western Australia on a working holiday visa (in 2012-2013), I'm desperate to go back to live and work in Perth or the south west area of WA. I also have family who live in Perth (sister and nieces).

I've looked online for job postings and see them pop up every now and then, however, I see some of them explicitly state 'Applicants must have full working rights in Australia' and similar. This has put me off applying for any jobs (from the UK).

So my question is: what is the best way to secure a sponsorship job in Australia from abroad? Are there specific job listing sites that offer sponsorship jobs?

I'm thinking of visiting Australia again at the end of the year on a 3 month holiday visa (finish off some left over backpacking and tick NT and SA off of my list). Would it be best to apply for jobs in person while I'm in the country? Perhaps approach IT recruitment companies about sponsorship jobs?

I currently rent and have no dependents. I would be available to start a job almost instantly. Would this help my chances of finding a sponsorship job?

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

If you want to emigrate then sponsored roles are probably not the best way forward as most visa offered are 457 which is only a temporary visa with no automatic path to permanent residence.

Also, gaining sponsorship in Perth at the moment would be tough given the state is in recession.

Have you looked at skilled migration.
