Hi @Jon at the end of the day if they request a copy of your bank statement and you refuse then they will look at it as you have something to hide and you wouldn't get your visa.

They will be looking for payslips, proof of receiving money, proof you were in the area ie photos, ATM withdrawals, bank statements to see if you purchased anything in the area etc.

Took this from visa bureau

What evidence do I need to support my application?

You will need to be able to prove that you completed the requirement before your second year visa is granted. You can do this by providing evidence with your application.

The evidence can include, but is not limited to the following:

  • A bank statement covering the entire period of your claimed specified work
  • Bus tickets, accommodation or general receipts in your name
  • Payslips
  • Group certificates
  • Tax returns
  • Employer references on official letterhead

Warning: There have been reports recently that people are simply paying for evidence in order to avoid completing the requirement. However, this is inadvisable as the Australian government has recently stepped up their efforts to tackle this abuse and if caught, you could face not only a lifetime ban from Australia but also from New Zealand and the United States.
