I'm glad to find this thread.

We are all prepared to lodge our 186 (transition stream) but still waiting for the employer to finish their nomination side. Hopefully any day now as we became eligible to lodge it yesterday and we are keen to get it in progress!

Hey friends

do you guys have any idea after you have co assigned how long he/she takes time to make decision ???

my MA told me around 2 weeks

but it was about my 457 visa application one year ago

I am not sure whether it is the same with 186 visa

According to the immi, if you apply your nomination and 186 at the same time, it will be the same CO. If you apply after the nomination approved, it may be the same CO.

HI Channel

I have different Co for the nomination applicaion and the visa application

are you still waiting ?

Hi everyone,

Congratulations to all who have been approved. For us, it feels like we have been in limbo since having arrived in Aus. I know we have had it easier than some in that my husband has had employment, but the trade off is that we haven't brought property, don't get any help with kids school fees, and i can't work because of childcare fees, still, hopefully all will be good if we get this visa.

I have also been watching this post for quite a while now. Just wanted to share our timeline

Nomination Lodged: 21st November 2013

Nomination Approved: 11th March 2014

186 application submitted with all paperwork: 12th March

Medicals completed: 21st March

Just waiting now, although i logged in today and under next steps the medical request has changed to 'medicals are not required for this visa' ??? - assuming this may mean that the medicals have been received ??. Anyway, will keep checking

congrats. you are one step closer! looks like it is taking longer for applications that include family members.

i wish DIBP is more clear on processing time, it helps us to manage our own expectation.

do you mind sharing what occupation you applied under 186?
