Some countries (like the Middle East) are seen as more "high risk" and applicants are subject to more stringent security checks so they take much longer. If you're applying from the UK then your application should be on the faster path. CM/PM 0 Posted April 2, 2022 Hi All. first time posting on here. I was wondering if anyone had any experience on 186 TRT timelines. I’m PMSOL and accredited sponsor. In Queensland! Not been waiting long, but I’m at the age now where this is my last shot. Thanks in advance.
KAG86 1 Posted April 5, 2022 Hi, I am currently waiting on my 186 DE (offshore) to be reviewed, the nomination and the application are still sitting as received and I wondered if anyone knew how long UK applications take, generally, to be reviewed and if it would take longer due to it being for a family and not a single person. Mrandmrsp 7 Posted April 5, 2022 No idea. Keep us posted! Our nomination was already done before visa and medicals. I’m hoping that from UK will be quicker.

KAG86 1 Posted May 9, 2022 No nothing yet. The only glimmer of optimism I have is that the processing times haven’t moved back any further! Mrandmrsp 7 Posted May 9, 2022 Yep I saw that. Updates each month. Well let’s keep fingers crossed. It still surprises me that they take this long. Especially when on the pmsol. Not much of a priority!! Oh well. I’ve resigned myself to a summer in England in my head. just have to all agree if you get it or anything, to post on here-that’ll probably be last thing on our minds but be good to do it! KAG86 1 Posted May 9, 2022 Yeah we are the same and it is not a big issue. My only concern is that the firm needs to fill the role and sponsorship is pulled before the visa comes through! 1 Occupation: Quantity Surveyor State: WA Country: United Kingdom Stream: 186 Direct Entry Number of applicants: 5 Nomination applied: 30th of November 2021 Visa applied: 18th of December 2021 Medicals Submitted: 13th of January 2022 s56 request: 7th of June 2022 All documents submitted: 8th of June 2022 s56 request: 7th of July 2022 Visa granted: 17th of August 2022

I wondered if you knew how accurate the processing times are; we are now getting into the flow of waiting, but I do have a worry in my gut that the times will keep being pushed out and out. We never used an agent and unfortunately the one's I have contacted are not able to offer a consultation as we have lodged the visa already. The company (for us) just did the nomination and then we have to lodge our own visa or use an agent. When I worked there on a temporary visa previously the company did it all but that was ten years ago.

As I understand it, it's not really a question of "just". The 186 requires the company to supply a huge amount of financial and other information, and they would usually hire an agent to help them put all of that together. However if they're used to hiring people from overseas, they may know it well enough not to need help - but in that case, they should be able to give you an idea how long it normally takes. Well it’s WA health so pretty sure done it before and they say it takes as long as it takes. I asked if they can push along but to know avail
KAG86 1 Posted May 14, 2022 (edited) No they haven’t used an agent as I think they have done a few 482’s and 186’s in the past. My profession isn’t really one which Australian universities train enough of, so I think the sector is used to importing QS’s from the UK. Not sure how long the processing would take further. Waiting patiently No other option other than that..
Jayws 4 Posted May 30, 2022 Hopefully not to long now S56 request 27-May, because we using an agent only saw email in the morning UK time which would have been close of business Australia time. S56 documents submitted 30-May Australia time. Feeling a lot more optimistic about sooner rather than later grant.
