May I ask what is VACCU?

It’s the Visa Application Character Checks Unit; they assess your application if anything is noted on the police checks.

My partner had a very minor offence on his police check so the application was sent to them for assessment. It came back okay at the start of the month and I have read people getting their grands within hours.

Hi there,
My employer will sponsor me in sc186 (working in NSW for this company for 2+ years now) Do you have any experience with processing time since Covid19? The website suggests 61-82 days, but the visa agent told me it could be more than a year. I hope she is just overly conservative on this, but some clarity would be nice. Thank you in advance 🙂

Used to be faster before covid, can't really guess the timeline now, best thing to do is apply and wait, hopefully the processing should start soon. 🤞

Unfortunately clarity is not possible when it comes to visa applications. I'd guess it's most likely to happen within about 6 months, given the current processing times are quite low and a lot of folks on here seem to be within that sort of time frame.

But the truth is, it could take 1 day, or it could take years - or anything in between. There is no way of knowing.

Hi,

Immigration closed for new applications 189,190 and 491 visa till 30th june.

Will this effect on 186 visa too? Either faster the processing?

These are state nominations closed I guess.

May be not, I guess the immigration is busy on assessing criteria for people on temp/student visa to travel based on emergency purpose.

Thanks! It seem just affecting skilled nominates visa 190, not on 189.

It would be huge if 189 gets impacted. I figured this closure impact non relevant to 186 as they subjected to the limitation of allocated numbers.

I do understand each visa category has quota to it, therefore if 186 approval has reached the quota for this year, the rest will be on hold for next year.

Would help every one if you list down all the docs requested by immigration in all s56 requests.
