Hi everyone,

My 186 visa was granted yesterday afternoon! After 6 months of complications, waiting and worrying - I can finally plan and live my life more comfortably in Australia. I really do hope that all of you receive the great news in the near future.

Hi All,

I’ve applied nomination and visa 186 on 7 Dec 2019 but my MA says that still no updates on my case. Can someone guide me how long will it takes for ICT Security Specialist to get nomination approve?
Secondly, If I take 4 weeks unpaid leave from my employer will it make any affect on my 186 visa process ?

I would really appreciate If someone can clear my points. And I really hope that we all get our PR granted mail asap.

If you'are applying through the MA - it's the best to ask your MA whether your holiday will have any impact on the application..

Hang in there, I guess the December ones didn't get much movement yet, thought some of the later applications has gone through.

Hi Everyone,

I have two questions regarding Health Examination.

1. My nomination was lodged on 4 Feb 2020. I don't know if it has been approved or not as I guess only the MA can track the status of that. However, when the primary visa application is lodged today (18 Mar 2020), I received Health Examination action required right away. Does that mean the nomination has already approved?

2. I followed the instruction of the Health Examination, printed the reference letter. But when I tried to book it, I found the Bupa Medical Visa Services is not available for new bookings due to current COVID-19 virus situation. The immigration department suggest that I only have 28 days to respond to their request. However, Bupa didn't mention when the new booking will be open again. What if they didn't open it in the next 28 days. Does that mean my application will be refused due to unable to provide the health check result in time?

Anyone in the same circumstance? I would appreciated if you have any suggestions.

Hi guys,

i heard from my MA that immi department is a chaos due to corona virus, lots of case officer reallocated to urgent cases such as people with visas expiring but can’t leave the country, so they need to act on that.

thats what I’m trying to believe.

I talked my agent this morning,he said must be something under investigation about my visa part otherwise it should not take this long (further assessment for 3months 13 days).

Hi ,

Im waiting since july 2019 , after submitting last s56 there is no update regarding visa application.

Yesterday i spoke to the department and she said the same as your migration agent that they might be doing verifications.  Its been 8 months im still waiting.  I dont know what type of verification they are doing. Applied my visa and nominations in February 2019.
Nomination approved 16 april 2019 but still waiting for visa.
I Really hope it comes soon. Im going through very hard time.

Have you tried to contact the department? It's a few months longer than the 90% processing time, you can contact them and see what they say.

It’s so hard waiting for almost 1year. I personal think even verification can get the result after 1year.

Yes,  yesterday I contacted to the department. She said only you can do is WAIT untill the decision comes. She didn’t even asked details about our application and told us we are from those 10% applications with no timeline.
Its just delay because department may be verifing documentations.

Depressing time .

Some of my documents are going to expire . Renewing them will definitely cost me alot .

@pr where are you ... Unfortunately, lots of us go through this. I'm afraid there's nothing we can do but sit and wait it out.

- There was once a rule whereby the dept would only help you once your waiting period was 2x that of the longest expected wait (10%). Meaning, some people would have to wait 24+months to get assistance.

It's bad but we are at there mercy i'm afraid.

Good luck!

My timeline is in my signature, but the nomination took roughly 4 months, PR came through a month after that.  This was for an ICT Support role in VIC.  Hopefully it shouldn't take much longer for you.

It these any impact COVID-19 on current onshore/offshore PR applications?

I think, it'll only impact on all offshore applications, department won't grant any offshore Visa till further notice.

What do you reckon guys?

In light of the COVID-19, PR applicants cannot take health examination recently as the health check provider in Australia - Bupa has closed all new bookings. They say the reopen date is not able to provide. Under this circumstances, anyone who is still in Australia and applying for application cannot be proceed if the health examination is not done before.

That's what I know so far.
