Im really surprised, why we're not getting much grants? as we used to get before.

I think a lot of people take annual leave for most of January, as it's school holidays. So, that's probably slowing things down.

Hi.. I am based in Colombo Sri Lanka... got a job offer in Melbourne Victoria... I am regarded as "offshore" correct?

99% of ppl i see on the excel file are onshore...

I am applying for DE 186 Solicitor...

1) Is there anybody else applying as offshore?

2) Does it take longer for Offshore applicants?

3) My employer has applied for my nomination... and once that is approved we will apply for the visa... Will there be an advantage if I apply for my Visa now instead of waiting for my nomination to be approved (other than time taken)?

It's much faster than I thought. It took me a month to get the 457 2 years ago.

Visa: 186 DE (on 457 working in OZ already)

6/1 application lodged
10/1 Nomination approved. Asking for police check
14/1 uploaded police check
17/1 visa granted
