Botany
Hello everyone, I’m a newbie here so apologies if my question has been asked... Here is my case: Visa type: 186 DE Nomination & application submitted: 11 Apr 2019 Status changed to Initial Assessment & request for Med checks: 24 Apr 2019 Med clearance: 13 May 2019 I haven’t heard anything from my MA, as she has recently resigned and my case has been passed to another person in the same agency. My question is given they have requested for my med checks and the status is now Further Assessment, does that mean my nomination has been approved? Many thanks in advance!

playitbyear
@Botany Congrats on the very quick movement of your case! I think it's likely your nomination has been approved BUT we have encountered a few cases on this forum recently whereby requests were made on the application, and nomination was still pending. Worth trying to track down someone in your MA agency for a definitive answer. Good luck Edited May 17, 2019 by playitbyear

I'm in the same situation. @slacey84 yes I definitely think so. My 457 was due to expire on May 29th and would have needed to apply for the other bridging visa. I just wrote that exact statement in the email, and received automated response. I wasn't expecting anything to come from it after that and the action the following day surprised me. Also given the fact that the information requested was very minor, and not relevant to the application. So it required very little action in regards to background checks. I think that was probably the biggest factor. Edited May 17, 2019 by playitbyear

I'm already on a bridging visa A (expired 457 Nov 2018), so to get a BVB would be a fairly simple process. Plus outstanding information is a police check so probably important they wait. Thanks for the info! I'll keep that in mind for the future though.
Fung
Hi everyone. I’m thinking what time the department normally updates the applications (eg. approve or request additional information). I saw many people said they got their applications approved around 10am. I know some people check their immi account 10 times a day, but we can save our time and energy if we know what time to check.

Also, on this forum, we have seen a few cases where cooks were approved within the reasonable timeline so it's not a rule of thumb that no one cares about this occupation. I suggest to sit tight, and as Hex always says: expect the worst, hope for the best. Especially that you only applied 6 months ago! Cheers.
