My visa was approved and Marketing Specialists were removed from the list.

@tuti - looking at the spreadsheet and in recent weeks there has been Feb 2018 approvals and a couple from 2017.

It's a mind field trying to work out what way they are processing the visas - clearly no set order!

Looks like SAF levy is a factor as post SAF levy (applicants after 12/08/2018) are getting approved very quick.

Cases from Feb/2018 approved in April and May had their nomination approved previously, there is only one case that both (nomination and visa) were approved in May... anyway just sharing a thought that can help with anxiety, it really helped me to have less expectations that it would happen tomorrow or so 😉

Hi @Fung, I have been waiting for 35 days since my Nomination approval. I hold a NZ PR (not citizenship).

What do you mean by "how long it takes DoHA to verify NZ police certificates with MOJ"?

Me too. I hold NZ PR as well. You have submitted a MOJ consent form with your NZ police certificate, right? That’s to give consent to DoHA to verify your NZ police certificate with MOJ.

No, I just uploaded my NZ AFP National Police Check report I got by email directly with my application. I am not sure what consent you are talking about.

Did you apply via MA or by yourself?

How long did it take to get approved since you reapplied? did you re do the medical checks and police checks?

did u request for a refund?

I had my nomination approved and medicals completed, after that I had to withdraw the visa application and re apply, using the same nomination and medicals

it took 12 months to be approved. medicals had expired by 2 months, but they did not request for new medicals.

I applied via MA. What about you?

I think you’re likely to be asked for the MOJ consent form by CO if you haven’t supplied one. Unless they changed the procedure recently.

Interesting!
Actually, I have found that there are two options for New Zealand (with two different forms):

  1. Request for Criminal Conviction History - Third Party -> guess the one you used.
  2. Request you own Criminal Conviction History -> the one I have uploaded with my application.

I am not sure if it makes a difference, as I have applied for visa by myself. I also could not find a requirement that specifically asks to use any of the above.

The page https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/help-text/evidence/Pages/et-h0290.aspx says "All visa applicants (and Family Sponsors) are required to provide a penal clearance certificate or police check from each country visited in the last 10 years" indicating that both should fit the bill.

Nope, I applied my NZ police certificates myself, which I had to. You must apply for a full record, which you have to apply yourself. You can only get a clean state certificate if you request through third party.

Regarding the MOJ consent form, you can read the below link on DoHA website:

https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/help-support/contact-us/offices-and-locations/list?locationid=842#infoSummaryHtml

I quote the following for you:

"If you receive only one letter from the NZ Ministry of Justice, indicating 'no convictions' you will need to supply this letter and your consent for the Department to seek confirmation from the NZ Ministry of Justice in relation to the number of letters issued.

Your consent must include the following information: You Full Name; Date of Birth; Gender; Address; email; contact number; your MOJ reference number and the following declaration:

I hereby consent to the disclosure, by the Ministry of Justice New Zealand information to the Australian Department of Home Affairs that is restricted to whether I was issued more than one letter in response to my application for a Criminal Records Check. I understand that the response from the Ministry of Justice will be a Yes/No response only.

The disclosure of this information to the Australian Department of Home Affairs is to be used for visa and citizenship purposes only.

The declaration must be signed and dated."

Hey There

Seems so ridiculous that more recent applications seem to have priority processing over older ones, but who knows what goes on in the immi offices.

Hoping i'm not alone from 2017 🙏 Is there anyone else stuck in the back log like me?

Hi,

I just called DOHA to ask and maybe get some update for my application as I'm getting worried.

They told me that the status is active but they couldn't explain what does it mean because it would be the protocol breach?

Have anyone heard anything about this status?

It’s a game of numbers , you have 150,000 seats available for PR but applications are 600,000.

Immigration 🤔 we should keep the rest of the application and play around with them. They are not running anywhere , they will always be here . Fill the occupation we need urgent rest we don’t care. There is no fairness , I can see cooks nobody’s cares , they are just labour. We should get more IT people who will change there profession once they become PR so the number starts from 0 again

It's because most people think of this as a queue, and whilst it is, it isn't a strict first in first out.

It's more like an airport check-in; there are many "economy" check-in desks but also a similar number of "business" desks. When a business class desk is free they can check-in an economy passenger; however if a business class customer turns up even if you've been waiting hours they trump you and get seen first.

Its the same with the visa it's just that in this case replace "economy" with "applicant" and "business class" with "today's most required occupation"

The process works to do what it's intended to do - fill places that are in desperate need in Australia, it's just not a good process for those left waiting

What about the rest , why they are charging the money if they have not intention of opening the cases . It’s like you paying same money as business even though you will never get the seat but still getting charge because that’s the source of income. They just refund the money an say try other airline we don’t need you

Hmm but pommygal and I have the same occupation and I got approved in 2.5 months. Conference and event organizers are not particularly needed by my own admission. We are both from low risk countries as well.

Only major difference is that I was TRT. Pommygal are you UK or Aussie based? I wonder if that makes a difference?

I have no clue why or how mine got done so quickly but I’m so thankful
