@HarryWong If all is good with your application, then I would say you have a chance, yes!
- We estimate that the CO's get back to "documents requested", within 35 days of requesting it.

If that rings true in your case, then the CO should review your case again (with the updated documents) near the end of the month and (if all is right), hopefully give the grant.

Unfortunately, no one will know this for sure (it could be a new CO, and they might want something that the previous CO didn't request). But, positive thinking! It'll come through!

I just checked with MA, my status is "further assessment", but she refuse to give any guess on the expected time of finalization.

It is a bit weird to me that I've got married in Australia 4 months before applying visa, and after 9 months waiting, CO asked me for genuine relationship proof - seems like our marriage is fraud. 😞

The status changed from "received" to "further assessment". Just worry "further assessment" takes some more time.

@HarryWong

The fact that you got married only 4 months before the visa application, is likely why it's in "Further Assessment".

My opinion is that this will be slightly scrutinized before approval.
- I had a friend who was in a similar (kinda) situation and was asked for him and his new wife go in for a face to fact meeting. It was intense, but they had nothing to hide and so it only prolonged the application, everything was eventually approved.

Good luck, holding thumbs everything goes quick!

@Nandarao It not with all restaurant manager applications, although it does seem to be with most.

My suspicion is due to them being considered HR (high risk) occupations, they are much more scrutinized (some cases) than other occupations.

Unfortunately, it seems this is just the way the department works, we have no choice but to sit back and wait.
- If it helps and makes you feel better, it's not only restaurant manager applications that typically take long, so you are not alone in the boat.

Stay strong, it'll come!

Hi all, a question about de facto evidence:

The agent I spoke to indicated that the evidence required to prove a de facto partner included on this visa type is less than for a partner visa, but the only info I can find online relates to partner visas.

Can anyone tell me if you need to go to the lengths of getting stat decs from friends etc, putting together pictures etc for a partner on a 186?

We're already in oz on my 457 but don't have many friends here. We do have a join homeloan in our home country though, he's on my insurance, and both bank documents list the same address.

Any thoughts appreciated.

@Kaaaaaaaaate gather as many evidences as you can including internet, phone, rent or any kind of bills that has both names. The fact you are both on same 457 is also good enough.

Additionally, you can register your relationship any time and this i believe substitutes the 1 year requirements of a de-facto. Check here: https://www.service.nsw.gov.au/transaction/apply-register-relationship-nsw

PS: the above is not a legal advice but personal experience. Always double check with a migration expert.

Based on my personal experience, When Immigration asked us twice 🤨 to prove that our marriage is genuine ,We provided Marriage Certificate,Joint bank account, Pictures with family and friends, Witness statement from 2 PR or Citizen with JP Stamp and a document which we explained how we met with pictures, locations, date. Yeah it was pretty awkward they asked twice however none of us is Aussie!!!

Because this profession isn't in the MLTSSL, and also it's not a demanding profession too i.e Accountant.

Wow - it sounds like you are already in oz - does that mean your partner was already on your existing visa as a secondary and they still asked you to prove it again twice?? Yikes

We applied offshore, so probably no interview can be made.

Is there a chance that they only grant visa for applicant but not the dependant ?

Hi guys,

We received bad news today. My boyfriend submitted his visa application with the incorrect nomination reference number (by mistake he put his previous 457 nomination reference number instead of the 186 nomination reference number). The email said this information can't be changed and he has to withdraw the application or will be refused. I was wondering if any of you know if there is a way to just ask them to let us change the reference number? It seems incredible unfair to pay the fee again for such a small mistake 😭

Any advice/ suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Someone (Flo03) has asked same question a couple of weeks ago and Raul Senise replied the following:

"This could be a fatal error for your visa application.
You can try and lodge an incorrect answer form and provide the correct TRN to see whether they will accept it.
Unusually a change of TRN is not accepted, although it is usually associated with trying to attach the visa to a new nomination due to a refusal.
As this was an honest mistake, they may accept it.
Some professional advice and a professionally written response to the natural justice letter may be wise."

You might be able to seek advice from him.

Hi! We have a similar situation, applyed April 2017, documents requested twice, in March 2018 and May 2018.

Yesterday we received the new medicare cards and they lasts 1 year.

Try to go to the medicare office and ask the reason, they should be able to tell you. Maybe it is just a mistake!

Good luck!

Hey guys the Doha requested more information about the companies. Last 3 month of payslip and the org chart. I don't think it s good sign as I saw plenty of people getting their visa without docs requested. I didn't even got my nomination approved yet... and my immi account showing status "received" it haven't change yet. Should I be worried about it?
