Perhaps the country also matters. Because I have noticed that one member on this forum also applied for 186DE as a Pharmacist on the same day as I did but certainly has had his granted already while I am still waiting. Only difference that I can tell his LR v HR

I think also business turnover/ sponsorship contribution/ size also plays a part

Hi all! Former lurker, first time poster!

My boss just approved the PR application. 186 TRT from my 457. I'm from the US and my defacto partner (he's currently on my 457 as my family member/partner) is from Brazil. Our wedding is in March, woot!

I'm eligible on Feb 4th and will be applying under my Conference and Events Organiser position. I was grandfathered into the old rules. My partner is taking his IELTS this weekend. He needs to score a minimum 4.5 which I hope he can get.

Any advice? What are the current processing times for people in my case? I know my country is low risk, but is my occupation low risk too? I don't think there are many of us, but I'm not sure if that means it'll drag out or not.

Great news! I'm in a similar situation, I'm on a 457 and my boyfriend who's also from the UK is on my visa. We will have completed 2 years on a 457 in April, also grandfathered from the old rules. Although my role category is Marketing Specialist.

Do you know if it's possible to lodge the company nomination before the 2 year mark? I wouldn't have thought so but thought it would be worth checking with you just incase I can get ahead. My MA is reluctant to give me any info on how the process works until nearer the time so right now I'm clueless.

Good luck with your application!

Possibly...there will be multiple factors that are taken into consideration.

The problem we have is we don't know the weighting of each factor or their formal process. Its all just conjecture based on the trends we see.

CO requested for Payslips, employment payment summary, and a cover letter stating company wishes to continue employment for at least 2 years. This was requested to Company (nomination app). Requested on 29 Dec

That has been uploaded yesterday.. I am still waiting for my police checks from home country to come through and upload them.

Good luck everyone 🙂

Did the CO ask that to you? Or to your company to approve the nomination? I'm just curious.

@Benoit Sorry I did edit my post. Co requested to the company this info (payslips etc). And to us the applicants:we were requested only our up to date police checks.

😊

Due to the sheer volume of applications in Feb ( more are getting added on here in the spreadsheet than what seem to be processed.)

I was hoping for a January outcome but think March - April is somewhat more realistic now. Fingers crossed  the next timeframe update doesn't change, it will be due soon I should imagine

I assume a lot of people got their applications in before March 1st. Changes were announced to be effective in March but the date wasn't specified (which ended up being 16th) but most MA would have rushed applications in. I am definitely one of them 🙂

Still sitting at Received sadly. Not had any contact. Applied mid March so hopefully something soon..... 🍀

@boo-yaaHang in there!! I once read on DHA's  official Facebook website that although it shows "received", there may be automatic checks done on your application. So just wait until they are missing something to ask for it, and if nothing is missing/ or further information is required (like some people's applications), your application can go from Received to Finalised.

All the best!

N

Correct, changes were from the 18th. I know this as it was a mad rush for me to get all the documents to lodge before this date.

Hey!

I am sitting on 16.5 months waiting for my nomination in Conference and Event Organiser Position FYI!

Oh wow! That long?! What was the estimated wait time for you when you applied? Are you TRT or DE?

Where in the process are you? Any advice on additional info they have requested?

No, you can't do the nomination until you are eligible. I'm eligible Feb 4th, so we are just gathering the docs now. So yeah, you have some time! I was the same though, and started emailing in October and they were like.... calm down you need to wait haha. No use getting all the stuff now as it'll be too old by the time you expire.

Another question - does the processing depend on what state you are filing from? I'm filing in Sydney.
