Has your job been removed? Has any one made any contact?

Yes its been removed from the skilled list in March.Hairdressers too? I just see that all hairdressers wait very long in general here!

I have not heard anything. I also did not contact them as I am officially still within their time frame, which changes every month 😵

Hey all, found this forum about a month ago and it's probably the one thing keeping me positive listening to everyone's different stories.  Seeing these processing times increase is mind-boggling since we're all here to bring our skills to Australia. But its good to see people posting their positive outcomes...eventually! Please add me to the spreadsheet. Added my details in my signature as recommended by a member. Cheers

Thanks nikimino for the reply! Have your nomination been approved? All the best to you!

I wish everyone in this waiting game will get a fair and happy ending! Because we are all hard working people making contribution to this country! Far out this is getting insane...I know we need to keep calm and have faith but sometimes it just couldn’t help getting a bit depressed. I need to book a getaway holiday soon to breathe some fresh air to my brain..

No news from the nomination until now. Good news will come one day if we work hard. I hope you will get a happy ending as well. I have already booked a getaway holiday to Tasmania this Christmas. Sometimes life is tough but we should have hope and go on.

Everyone should keep the faith! Fighting!

Not sure if it's been asked before.

We are on 457, applied 186 in Feb.

As far as I understand we are eligible for Medicare (blue or something like this).

Question: if we will apply to Medicare and we will get it, do we still need to pay for 457 Health Insurance (Private fund)?

As far as I understand as we are still on 457 (expires 2020) we must have the appropriate level of cover.  Is Medicare cover good enough?

How does it work?

Thanks.

Yes but medicare does not cover ambulance services (mandatory for who isnt permanent yet ) so you can cancel ur private health insurance and enroll medicare +  find your selfr a cheap ambulance service provider . I ve got st. John ambulance $80 per year family pack

I have just joined the forum for a few days. Looking at the spreadsheet, I was wondering whether there is a trend based on occupation. Glad to see the discussion today on this. It helps to make (slightly) better prediction and be more realistic. I say "slightly" better because the process contains so much variation, even within the same occupation!

*PR granted.

Dear friends,

I was granted PR this morning and my agent rang up to inform about this. I initially started with 186 and 190 during early 2012 but due to various factors [Job code being moved from SOL to CSOL, increase in eligibility points etc.] I couldn't secure an invitation.

I had to take IELTS twice and PTE once to keep up with the race but still no progress despite scoring band-8 in all. So I took 457 pathway via an internal opportunity and moved to Australia in 2016 and finally reached the goal.

I'm listing my details in case it may help someone here;

- ANZSCO - 263111 [Computer Network and Systems Engineer].
- Years of experience - 12
- Organization : >$50bn, >100K employees.
- MARA used - Company appointed.
- Country - High risk, 3 applicants.
- Nomination & Visa lodged on 24th February 2018.
- Status changed from received to finalised straight without any contact. So I don't know if nomination was approved earlier or on the same day. Agent couldn't share more details about it.
- Uploaded all necessary documents with the application, including PCC. Did healh assessment last month.
- During this wait, I contacted the dept. once via phone to check if there is any progress with my case as it had been in "Received" state for over 8 months and the agent who spoke was nice and kind to tell the case was being looked into but there wasn't an ETA.

Let me know if you require any additional information and I'll be happy to share.

I wish the set of people who have been waiting since 2016 and 2017 to get their grant at the earliest regardless of the occupation.

Good luck all.

Congratulations !!!!

Yep hairdressers removed too.

and I’m in the same boat- can’t contact them because they just keep moving the goal post!

We will get there hopefully!

And I believe that most of these people work in occupations that have been taken off the skill list in march.

While I think there's definitely some truth to this logic, I'm not sure it's the only reason behind the delay. My occupation is still on the list, and it's taking ages.

That said, I have noticed other Marketing Specialists apps have encountered longer processing timelines.

My MA told my employer that CO are very strict now, normally 186/187 success rate is below than 50%. They only doing what they been told by higher officials (i.e. Immigration Minister etc). They may visit the job location to physically inspect the current position of the employees, so please make sure if you're taking day off your leave application should be there.
