Motion Made To Disallow SAF Regulations: Major Potential Impacts on Visa Applicants and Employers
On Thursday, 20 September 2018, Senator John Williams of the Nationals party tabled a notice of motion to disallow the Migration Amendment (Skilling Australians Fund) Regulations 2018 (the “SAF Regulations”).
Should this legislative instrument be disallowed, as of the date of disallowance there would be significant consequences for new and existing 482, 186 and 187 applicants and employers including the following:
·      Payment of the nomination training contribution charge (NTCC) aka “SAF Levy” would no longer be required;
·      Refund provisions under the SAF Regulations for NTCC charges already paid would be eliminated;
·      Certain Training Benchmark requirements would be restored;
·      Refunds of VACs and nomination application fees would be affected in certain circumstances;
·      Availability of waivers of the full-time position and annual earnings requirements for subclass 482 visas would be eliminated.

Sorry can this be translated into layman's language and let me know if this positive or negative impact on us please

@parveen As far as i'm aware, this is still mandatory for the company. My company was also asked for evidence of same (and an updated copy of same).

Hi
I applied my visa through a migration agent and he is not responding properly to me and if somehow i get in touch with him then he talks rudely to me.
My question is that If I want to remove him from first contact with immigration and handle my file myself then would it affect my case in any way???
And also which form do I need to fill and send to immigration to remove him from contact list for my case??
Thanks in advance

Oh no I’m so sorry for you! Would the CO not just give u a chance to get the employer to pay it?? How can we tell if our evidence of training has been submitted? I didn’t hear of that when I was applying in Feb, but my MA for my employer was handling all paperwork. I’ve imported my application on my account but can’t see where that is. I hope you get another chance ?

If the sale of the business results in the new owner operating the restaurant under a different ABN then it will be a problem for your 186 application and your current visa status.

If they buy the business and continue to operate under the same ABN number, then you should be OK.

You need to discuss this with your employer as their decision on the sale of the business could have a devastating affect on you.

Hi all,

Silent reader for the past many many many months and frustration rose to an uncontrollable level that causing me to make this first post.

My timeline as below:

Occupation: Marketing Specialist

Visa: 186 ENS DE

Country: LR

Applicants: 3

Nomination lodged: 6/9/2017

Nomination approved: 22/5/2018

Visa lodged: 28/5/2018

Status: Received

I have been checking my IMMI account like every minute since the visa lodgement and the waiting is seriously a pain in the xxx.

Need some advice to gauge by when I could get an update from them other than “received”. Or anyone facing similar situation please share your thoughts.

Thank you.

waiting from may 2017...and 3month after the nomination... a nightmare
