I have a ref number but I don't know how to use it. Babs2012 Posted July 20, 2017 Share Posted July 20, 2017 Sorry it's just taken a while settle in! I wasn't expecting to hear anything for a few months at least!!!! Yep that's us, couldn't remember exact dates etc!!! so in my experience....... we had a 457 and transitioned from there to a permanent residency visa. We used a migration agent as it was a lot of money to invest and we wanted to make sure everything was perfect. In hindsight it's the best decision we made. We did our medicals a week ago and then granted our PR 8 days later. One wonders if we had done our medicals in march it may have been 8 days from then or sooner than today. Using a migration agent meant our application was 'decision ready' so no delays for further information etc. The only delay for us was between the nomination and visa as we didn't apply at the same time incase it didn't get approved and we would have lost a lot of money. I hope this information helps those who are waiting and those who are ready to apply soon. Please also be careful of what you are charged by an migration agent. Ours was $2200 and we would recommend to anyone. They have been there for us from sorting our 457 visa until today. Its great to see the people I spoke to 4 years ago today have PR, we were all waiting on our 457 to be approved this time 4 years ago! I think the main reason why there is a drop in using the spreadsheet is just that it is not to be seen anywhere easily in the forum. So, the nomination was processed successfully and now your file is under processing- am I understanding the steps correctly? 2. How long did it take for them to complete processing the nomination and move to your application? 3. We have applied both nomination and visa together and the nomination is under process now, so not sure when they'll complete it and move onto our files- nerve-wracking to wait, amidst all the uncertainty. 4. Would you happen to know how long the AFP is valid for? We got ours done in March 2016 and I hear we'll need to get a new one if that expires. Thanks for the kind words 1 - Both nomination and application are being processed apparently - nothing approved yet. 2 - I do not know - it depends on the file I guess? 3 - We did too - our MA submitted everything decision ready. 4 - AFP is valid a year - You need to provide a new one indeed. I had done this back in April already in anticipation, our MA uploaded it back then My medicals are expired so I am wondering if they will ask me to renew them or not. When I provided my new police check, our MA had advised to wait before re-doing the Medicals because it depends on the CO apparently. I wish you lots of luck too. The wait is very painful, I do sincerely hope the 2016 files - especially the first semesters ones - will be picked up and processed asap. A friend of ours submitted their application 'decision ready' with medicals that had she done before and within an hour of the nomination and application processed by her Ma she was granted her PR! Renewing the Medicals requires a new HAP ID - and the feedback from my MA was to wait for the CO to ask because a new HAP ID could complicate the process more than helping it. No idea why but I trust her 100% so I will wait for them to come back to us. She also said that the CO is likely to be ok with medicals being out of date considering the delays in processing times. How quick the application gets processed will probably depend on the CO workload. At the moment, my account still show "received" and not "in process" so let's be patient. PR finally approved on Friday 21/07/17 Nomination & Visa applied on 05/05/16, HR, 2 people, Chef. Application went from "Received" to "Finalized", no extra docs requested, no contact, nothing, just like that.
